About this formula

Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang (Pinellia Drain the Heart Decoction) is a classical formula from Zhang Zhong-jing's late Han dynasty Shan Han Lun, considered a modification of Xiao Chai Hu Tang. This 10:1 powdered extract in 500mg gelatin capsules harmonizes the stomach and downbears counterflow while fortifying the spleen and clearing heat from the digestive system.

Uses
  • Supports healthy digestive function in patterns involving damp heat in the stomach and intestines with simultaneous spleen qi vacuity
  • Traditionally used to address patterns associated with acute nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea
  • Supports healthy gastrointestinal function
  • Traditionally used for patterns presenting with nausea and vomiting
  • Supports normal bowel function
  • Traditionally used for patterns with thick, slimy yellow tongue fur and rapid, slippery pulse
  • Supports healthy energy levels and strength in spleen qi vacuity patterns
  • Traditionally used for patterns with swollen tongue with teeth-marks and forceless pulse
Dosage

Three capsules two times per day equal not less than 30 grams of bulk medicinals. However, because our extraction process is so much more efficient than stovetop decoction, we believe this amount of extract is actually more like the equivalent of 45-60 grams of bulk-dispensed herbs.
