We don’t just sell needles. We build them.
Three brands. Twenty-five years of working directly with manufacturers. Because the needles practitioners deserved didn’t exist yet — so we went to the factory and made them.
In the early 2000s, Gary Nochimson became the exclusive U.S. importer of Peace acupuncture needles. At the time, most acupuncture needles were still made largely by hand. Burrs on needle tips were common. Consistency from box to box was something the industry had learned to live with.
Gary didn’t accept it.
He worked directly with the manufacturer to automate acupuncture needle production — pushing for precision machinery that eliminated burrs and delivered the same quality in every needle, every time. He didn’t just import needles. He helped redesign how they were made.
That relationship with the factory floor is what makes Acu-Market’s needle brands different. Every needle that ships under the Energy Flo, Peace, or SMC name comes from manufacturers we’ve worked with for years, in facilities we’ve walked through ourselves.
Most companies in this industry have never seen the inside of the factory that makes their needles. We fly there. We walk the production lines. We sit across the table from the people who build what we sell. That’s not a marketing story — it’s how we’ve done business for twenty-five years.
Energy Flo
Launched in 2008 to solve a specific problem — practitioners wanted a premium plastic handle needle but couldn’t justify the cost of the market leader. Energy Flo delivered a silicone-coated stainless steel shaft with a color-coded plastic handle, smooth and consistent insertion, at roughly half the price.
It didn’t cut corners to hit that number. It raised the bar for what a value-priced needle could be. Thousands of practitioners switched and never looked back.

The original. Peace was Gary’s first exclusive import, and the brand that started Acu-Market’s direct relationship with needle manufacturing. What began as a hand-assembled needle with inconsistent quality became, through Gary’s push for automated production, one of the most reliable needles on the market.
Peace needles are the foundation everything else was built on. The needle that proved consistent quality and fair pricing could coexist.

SMC
Arrived from Korea in 2016 to answer a different need — high-volume practitioners who go through needles fast and need a premium spring handle needle that doesn’t break the budget. The bulk 10-pack configuration is the point: ten packs of ten needles, same quality, dramatically less cost per needle.
For acupuncturists treating 20–30 patients a day, SMC changed the math.
