Pattern Differentiation
vs. Heart Blood Deficiency
Heart Blood Deficiency presents with pale complexion, pale tongue, and choppy pulse, lacking the heat signs of Heart Yin Deficiency. Night sweats are absent, and insomnia manifests as difficulty staying asleep rather than falling asleep. The restlessness is less pronounced, replaced by fatigue and lethargy.
vs. Heart Fire Blazing
Heart Fire Blazing shows acute, severe symptoms with bitter taste, red face, and possible mouth sores. The pulse is rapid and forceful rather than thin. Mental symptoms include manic behavior or severe agitation, contrasting with the chronic, depleted presentation of Heart Yin Deficiency.
vs. Kidney Yin Deficiency with Heart involvement
When Kidney Yin Deficiency affects the Heart, lumbar soreness, sexual dysfunction, and five-palm heat are prominent. The tongue is red with geographic coating, and tinnitus is more severe. Heart symptoms are secondary to the primary Kidney pathology, with less pronounced chest heat and palpitations.
