About Jason Nochimson

Jason Nochimson
COO and Corporate Counsel, Acu-Market
I'm Jason Nochimson. I run technology, e-commerce, marketing, and legal at Acu-Market, the wholesale acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal supply business my family has established in 2001. My father Gary Nochimson founded the company and still runs purchasing and warehouse operations. Since 2007, I have overseen regulatory compliance, technology infrastructure, and the increasingly complex legal landscape around medical devices and herbal products.
What I Write About
The Acu-Market blog covers three areas I have direct, hands-on experience with.
Acupuncture needles. Acu-Market is the master U.S. importer of Energy Flo, Peace, and SMC acupuncture needles. I evaluate every needle line we bring in, review the FDA filings, and personally all aspects on compliance. I am in our Riviera Beach warehouse regularly, looking at the same boxes our practitioner customers receive.
Chinese herbal formulas. We stock formulas from every major manufacturer practitioners use in the United States: including Sun Ten, Evergreen, Health Concerns, Blue Poppy, and our own Energy Flo line. I write about specific formulas based on what practitioners actually order and what 25 years of practitioner questions have taught us about clinical use, dosing, and brand-to-brand variation.
Regulatory and practice compliance. As Corporate Counsel for an FDA-registered wholesale importer and distributor, I work the regulatory layer every day: 510(k) classifications, state licensing requirements, sharps disposal rules, DSHEA classification questions for herbal products. The compliance content on this blog comes from working through these issues for our own business, not researching them academically.
About Acu-Market
Medical Technology Products, Inc., doing business as Acu-Market, has been an FDA-registered wholesale distributor of acupuncture and Chinese herbal supplies since 2001. We supply licensed acupuncturists, students, and clinics across all 50 states.
We are a family business. My father Gary founded the company. Our team in Riviera Beach, Florida includes long-tenured employees who know the inventory better than the people running most national distributors. When you call 866-440-7703, the phone gets answered by a person who can find your order.
Background
My father Gary asked me to come back to the family business in 2007, and I came because I wanted to build something that gave healers the tools to help people. The work has been more regulatory than I expected. For nearly 20 years I've worked on the major regulatory challenges facing the acupuncture profession — FDA Class II classification and 510(k) standards for acupuncture needles, the dual DSHEA and FDA frameworks that govern Chinese herbal products, customs and import rules that determine which preparations actually reach U.S. clinics, and the state-by-state licensure and scope-of-practice landscape that determines who can buy and use what. Most of what you'll read on this blog comes directly out of that work.
I serve as Acu-Market's Authorized House Counsel, registered with The Florida Bar under their provisions for attorneys admitted in another state. I've been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2005.
University of Florida, Valedictorian of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. J.D., Emory University School of Law.
Why I Write
Most content about acupuncture supplies on the internet is written by marketing agencies that have never seen the inside of a clinic, opened a box of needles, or read an FDA 510(k) filing. I started this blog because practitioners deserve content from people who actually work in this industry. If you have a question I haven't addressed, email me directly: jason@acu-market.com.
