Formula Rationale

Crampbark (Viburnum opulis) is a Native American remedy with warming and antispasmodic actions used for menstrual cramps. This herb is combined with warm, blood-vitalizing herbs that also help to relieve menstrual pains. Cramp Bark Plus is based on formulas for uterine cramping, Cinnamon and Persica Combination, Achyranthes Combination, and To Jing Wan. Also included in the formula are herbs that assist circulation of Qi and moisture, leonurus (yi mu cao), and vladimiria souliei (mu xiang). Zedoaria (e zhu) and sparganium (san leng) are traditionally used to reduce fibroids and cysts. In conformity with traditional Chinese practice, the herbs have been soaked in wine, and then dried, prior to tableting. This process enhances the warming and blood vitalizing properties of Cramp Bark Plus.
