Description

Qing Qi Hua Tan Tang (Clear the Qi & Transform Phlegm Decoction) is a classical Ming dynasty formula from Wu Kun's Investigations of Medical Formulas (Yi Fang Kao) published in 1584. This formula supports healthy respiratory function and helps clear excess heat and phlegm from the lungs. Blue Poppy's version is a 10:1 powdered extract in 500mg gelatin capsules.

TCM Actions

  • Clears heat and transforms phlegm, downbears counterflow and stops coughing

Clinical Applications

  • Supports healthy respiratory function in conditions involving phlegm-heat patterns
  • Supports normal expectoration of thick, yellow phlegm
  • Supports comfort in the chest and epigastric region
  • Traditionally used for patterns presenting with cough, chest fullness, red tongue with yellow slimy coating, and slippery rapid pulse

Ingredients

  • Dan Nan Xing (bile-processed Rhizoma Arisaematis), 88 mg
  • Ban Xia (Rhizoma Pinelliae), 88 mg
  • Gua Lou Ren (Semen Trichosanthis), 59 mg
  • Xing Ren (Semen Armeniacae), 59 mg
  • Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae), 59 mg
  • Fu Ling (Poria), 59 mg
  • Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), 44 mg
  • Zhi Shi (Fructus Immaturus Aurantii), 44 mg

Recommended Dosage

Three capsules two times per day equal not less that 30 grams of bulk medicinals. However, because our extraction process is much more efficient than stovetop decoction, we believe this amount of our extract is actually more like the equivalent of 45-60 grams of bulk-dispensed herbs.
